Rasche's Skat 5.0 / 6 (for Macintosh and Win95/Win98/ME/NT4/NT2000/XP/Vista) "Version 6" with more functions. New:
You'll be amazed by this new version of Skat! Skat is played by three or more players and was developed in Altenburg, Germany at the beginning of the 19th century. It was developed out of earlier card games and has grown to be the most popular German card game. Today, it is played worldwide. This new version of our simulation takes you away to Skat island. It's your job to win as much money as possible by playing Skat. Why? That's a secret that you will have to discover for yourself. Suffice it to say that there are up to 20 simulated opponents and 8 different playing venues to make your task more enjoyable and challenging. (For those who simply want to play Skat without the fantasy aspect, we recommend Rasche's Skat 4.0.) For example, you might begin with a little practice in our "Training Room." But remember, there's nothing to win there! Those who purchase our additional card sets A and B, also have the chance to raise the stakes by playing with different cards. But, that's also a surprise and we'll leave it for our receptionist to explain. With all of these new story elements, we haven't forgotton that you want to play Skat against challenging opponents. So, we've improved the playing routines even beyond those of Skat 2.0 and 3.0 which have already received good reviews in the press. This new version includes 8 new playing routines and we've succeeded in raising the level of play substantially. To test this, we simulated a league championship with twenty simulated players. Each player was assigned a different playing style and the tournament consisted of all possible combinations of pairings. 2000 hands per pairing were played. As shown in the table below, the new routines simply play better! [Data from 5/1/2001. Development continues.] The new routines are indicated ("E" Expert and "P-S" - Professional - long-run strategy). System requirements: Macintosh (MacOS 7.0 or higher) or Win95/98/ME/NT4.0/NT2000/XP/Vista
